Our client, a regional main contractor specializing in civil engineering is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their expanding team to work on projects throughout the North West. Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for full project management life cycle
  • Manager 3-4 projects at one time, project value circa £1-£5m (some projects in excess of £20m)
  • Creation and management of budgets

  • Management of subcontractors

Our client, a main contractor that specialize in civil engineering/infrastructure works is looking to recruit an experienced Site Project Manager to join their expanding team to work on an array of projects for their client National Grid throughout the UK. THIS IS A NATIONAL CONTRACTOR, THEREFORE TRAVEL AND STAYING AWAY FROM HOME THROUGH THE WEEK WILL BE EXPECTED WHEN NEEDED.

  

Site Manager Responsibilities: 


  • Ensure accurate implementation of all works on site 
  • Produce risk assessments and method statements 
  • Ensure work is executed in a safe manner 
  • Manage site activities to ensure work is completed on time and within budget 
  • Programme works, short and medium term 
  • Liaise with senior foreman on daily basis issues related with programme, resources, production, 
  • productivity necessary to meet with programme requirements 
  • Lead all actions to solve technical difficulties, improve performance in terms of progress and quality 
  • Set working parameters, ensure their application on site, assess the performance 


Site Manager Requirements: 


  • Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent) 
  • Experience working with National Grid advantageous
  • Persons/BESC Qualification advantageous however can be provided by the client
  • Civil engineering experience (Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Utilities, Cable Laying, Large Diameter Pipe installation) 
  • Experienced in site project management

Our client, a main contractor specializing in civil engineering is looking to recruit an experienced Project Planner to join their expanding team based in the Manchester area. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate as our client is offering excellent salary and package as well as fantastic opportunities for progression.


PLEASE NOT THERE IS NO HYBRID WORKING AVAILABLE WITH THIS CONTRACTOR. THE ROLE IS SPLIT MONDAY – FRIDAY BASED BETWEEN HEAD OFFICE AND SITES THROUGHOUT THE NORTH WEST.


Project Planner Responsibilities:


  • Provide/implement high quality planning and scheduling standards and expertise to Project Managers on projects
  • Produce detailed logic linked project plans in P6 for framework projects
  • Produce project plans in Microsoft Project for competitively tendered works
  • Ensure integration of project control procedures into the project delivery process
  • Provide expert advice including daily, weekly or monthly schedule updates
  • Production of monthly planning reports, resource updates and projections
  • Production of ad-hoc reports informing the Project Manager of significant schedule impacts and their effect on progress and completion
  • Prepare information and attend regular planning and progress meetings
  • Lead and aid development for a team of Planners


Project Planner Requirements:


  • A recognized diploma or degree or be qualified by experience
  • A significant experience in all aspects of planning and scheduling in Primavera and MSP products
  • Experience across civil engineering
  • Experience or knowledge of resourcing, progress measurement, earned value analysis, completion forecasting and status reporting
  • Breadth of experience across whole project and programme lifecycle. (e.g. Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes)
  • The ability to reconcile cost information as it applies to the programmes of work
  • Proficient in the interpretation of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools
  • Proficient in the use of Earned Value Analysis
  • Experience of the programme in relation to contracts, e.g. NEC3/4; IChemE; FIDIC
  • Effective client interface skills and experience with the ability to offer both strategic and project advice
  • Good report writing and presentation skills

Works Manager Responsibilities:


  • Understanding the main contract and relevant clauses 
  • Understand drawings and specifications 
  • Ensuring works are carried out productively with the safety of other a high priority 
  • Ensuring works are carried out to the highest standard 
  • Ensuring schemes are delivered on time and within budget
  • Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings 
  • Ensuring safety is first and foremost 
  • Plant and Labour reconciliations to ensure efficiencies across our sites. 
  • Communication with managers to ensure all site staff including Sub Contractors work safely
  • Material reconciliations and produce regular reports 
  • Management of staff issues, performance and absence 
  • Identification of team training and development needs and mentoring junior members
  • Produce and review method statements/risk assessments
  • Liaise with all relevant sub-contractors


Works Manager Requirements:


  • Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent)
  • Civil engineering experience, highways, infrastructure, water/waste water etc
  • Experienced Works Manager 
  • Excellent communication and people and team management skills
