Project Manager

Our client, a main contractor specializing in civil engineering is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their expanding team to work on projects throughout the North West. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable business with a huge amount of work in 2022 and beyond. Project Manager Responsibilities: 


  • Responsible for full project life cycle 
  • Creation and management of budgets 
  • All project costings 
  • Programming works  
  • Procurement 
  • Management of subcontractors 
  • Health & Safety 
  • Quality Liaison with the client and stakeholders 
  • Weekly update meetings with operations director  


Project Manager Requirements: 


  • Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent) 
  • Civil Engineering experience including roads & highways, water/waste water, infrastructure etc.   
  • Experienced project manager involved with design, programming, budgeting etc. Full life cycle experience 
  • Excellent communication, people and team management skills 


Site Manager - Civil Engineering - National Role

Our client, a civil engineering main contractor that work with National Grid is looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager to join their expanding team to work on an array of projects throughout the UK. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate as our client is offering excellent salary and package as well as fantastic opportunities for progression. 

  

Site Manager Key Accountabilities:


  • Manage a team on site
  • Be responsible for all site activities


Site Manager Responsibilities:


  • Ensure accurate implementation of all works on site
  • Produce risk assessments and method statements 
  • Ensure work is executed in a safe manner 
  • Manage site activities to ensure work is completed on time and within budget
  • Programme works, short and medium term
  • Liaise with senior foreman on daily basis issues related with programme, resources, production, productivity necessary to meet with programme requirements
  • Lead all actions to solve technical difficulties, improve performance in terms of progress and quality
  • Set working parameters, ensure their application on site, assess the performance


Site Manager Requirements:


  • Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent)
  • Experience working with National Grid advantageous
  • Civil engineering experience (Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Utilities, Cable Laying, Large Diameter Pipe Installation, Troughing etc.)
  • Experienced in site management 
  • Excellent communication and people and team management skills



 

Surfacing Manager - North West & Yorkshire

Our client, a tier two civil engineering contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Surfacing Manager to join their expanding team to work on projects throughout the North West and Yorkshire regions. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate as our client is offering excellent salary and package as well as fantastic opportunities for progression and growth.


Surfacing Manager Responsibilities:   


  • Proven track record in managing the day to day running of machine and hand-lay surfacing gangs 
  • Driving compliance against NHSS Sector 16 records and management systems 
  • Regular stakeholder management  
  • Site controls ensuring appropriate housekeeping and site coordination. 
  • Management of relevant sub-contractors and liaison with clients both prior to, throughout and after completion of the works, ensuring a high standard of service and quality end product  


Surfacing Manager Requirements:  


  • Applicants must have highways reconstruction experience, preferably in a streetworks environment 
  • SSSTS or SMSTS and relevant CSCS accreditation 
  • NRSWA accreditation would also be advantageous 
  • Good man management skills 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Experience managing the client interface  


Site Engineer - Civil Engineering

Our client, a main contractor specializing in civil engineering is looking to recruit an experienced Site Engineer to join their expanding team to work on projects throughout the North West. Site Engineer Responsibilities:  


  • Read and interpret designs and drawings 
  • Ensure accurate setting out of works
  • Adhere to risk assessments and method statements 
  • Ensure work is executed in a safe manner 
  • Adhere to Health & Safety regulations 
  • Manage quality aspects of the role 
  • Manage all other engineering related site activities 
  • As builts 
  • Quality lifetime records
  • Managing subcontractors 
  • Assisting with coaching and mentoring younger, junior engineers.  


Site Engineer Requirements:  


  • Relevant industry qualification (HNC/BEng)
  • Civil engineering experience 
  • Experienced and accurate setting out skills  
  • Experienced engineer 


Contracts Manager - National Grid

Our client, a specialist civil engineering contractor working for National Grid is looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to join their expanding team to work on projects throughout the UK. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate as our client is offering excellent salary and package as well as fantastic opportunities for progression.


Contracts Manager Key Accountabilities: 


  • Management of projects both operationally and commercially 
  • Managing the relationship with the client 
  • Be responsible for a team Site Project Managers 
  • Responsibility from both a commercial and contractual stand point  
  • Ensure contracts run to schedule and to budget 
  • Ensure works are completed to the highest level of quality and in line with Company procedures.  Upfront planning and mobilisation in advance of works commencing on site.
  • Input into Resource Management including “look ahead” programmes, material scheduling, plant and labour forecasting and progress on site is regularly benchmarked against target programme.  Effective man management of site staff / motivating workforce to meet project deadlines and targets.  
  • Client liaison – promote a positive client interface ensuring that our clients maintain the highest level of confidence with the Company.  


Contracts Manager Requirements:


  • Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent) 
  • Experience working with National Grid advantageous however not a necessity otherwise Civil engineering experience i.e. groundworks, foundations, RC, troughing, pipe/cable laying etc Experienced Contracts Manager, however candidates at Project Manager Level ready to make the step up to Contract Management strongly considered. 
  • Excellent communication and man/woman management skills
